Since I’ll probably never write more to it (since I know Alaric isn’t coming back I lost my muse for it) I’m going to go ahead and post this small Dalaric drabble. It’s set during/after 4x13. It’s very short but I wrote it randomly when I had some serious need for Alaric in the recent epsiodes. I know it’s not much but I hope you like it and it makes it up to some of the people that have been demanding fic from me.
This is merely an introduction. Depending on the response I plan to continue writing.
Ric had told her to go, told her that Damon could take care of it and “make sure it all went down the right way” but Elena couldn’t find it in her to leave. She had stood there, back against the cold stone wall, and watched as Meredith gave him the sedative, and when Damon walked in he and Elena caught each other’s gaze for a long moment before he walked past her and took his seat next to their friend on the floor. Elena followed silently, leaning back against the wall as Damon began to talk but Alaric held up his hand and looked at Elena. “I told you to go.” He said quietly, his eyes sincere and his voice firm as he spoke but Elena just shook her head. “I’m not going anywhere.” She stated before she turned away, breaking his gaze as she settled into her spot on the floor. Ric’s hand fell to the floor in defeat and he returned his eyes to Damon. Their words were lighthearted. They joked and laughed and Damon drank his bourbon. It was just a normal night for the two men; it was as if nothing was wrong, like they weren’t losing him forever in the manner of hours. There was a sick feeling curdling in Elena’s stomach, an anger boiling inside of her as she listened to their banter and she couldn’t stay silent any longer.
An AU Eleric Fan Fiction based on the episode 3x20 Do Not Go Gentle. It’s about what could have happened if Elena & Alaric had been in love and Alaric had decided not to go through with the change…

Authors Note: This is a Jenna and Alaric AU fanfiction based on a Matt Davis & Sara Canning RP written by myself and “Jenna’s” lines and inspiration from Elyse. In this story Jenna and Alaric have a daughter named Riley and they are contemplating whether or not they should be living together so soon after getting back together.
Stefan had walked into the dirty and abandoned room, with most of the coffins opened Klaus had currently abandoned his guard of the final coffin to deal with his siblings but Stefan was still determined to find who the final coffin held. Even if he wouldn’t awaken whoever this was, he at least wanted to peak so they would know what they must be up against. He stood before the coffin his mouth agape as he stared at the final coffin which lay haphazardly off the stand it had been place on and open. He took a step closer to see that the coffin was empty. Anger filled him as he stared at the interior of the coffin.
“Empty? After all this trouble to keep us from it? Empty?!” He growled as he pulled up the edge of the coffin and throw it against the wall, a crack splitting down the length of the fine wood. He was standing there, breathing heavily, his fists clenched together when he heard the sliding of bare feet behind him and he turned around quickly. There she stood, her long wavy brown hair pulled around to one side, a fearful look on her face as she observed the damage he had inflicted. Her mouth was open in shock as she observed what he had done. “You shouldn’t be here, Elena.” Stefan sneered. He couldn’t believe she had followed him there yet again, and he couldn’t understand why she was always putting herself in harms way. He began to stomp past her.
She took a step away from him cautiously. “Elena? I’m not Elena… Who-” she said in a soft, confused and uncertain tone, but before she could finish his hand was around her neck and she was pinned against the cold stone wall behind her. Her legs dangled as she gasped for air and she gripped his wrist.
“Katherine,” he muttered through clenched teeth. “You shouldn’t have come back. No one wants you around here.” He said. He had been almost relieved when she left town, he didn’t need anymore of her games interfering with his plans. He snarled at her as his lip curled up and revealed his fangs. As his head began to clear from the fog of anger he
Caroline stood in front of the mirror, gazing at her reflection. Her hands fumbling to put in her earrings as she heard the soft creak of the door. She took a deep breath and grabbed her gloves off the dresser and her lips curved up in a gentle smile as she slipped them on. Before she could turn to face him his hand was settled on her shoulder.
She felt the breath of his rough low voice on her neck, tickling her skin. “Hello, love.” he said softly as she turned to face him. She lifted her blue eyes to meet his. Klaus stood there, a grin spreading across his lips as he took in the sight of her.
He took her gloved hand in his and lifted it to his mouth, pressing a small kiss to the back of her hand. Though it was a simple gesture, it made her nervous and she turned from him quickly to face the mirror again. As his eyes followed her movements she smoothed the corset of her fine dress. He gave a short chuckle at her bashfulness as she snapped the clip of his bracelet around her wrist.
“Simply ravishing,” he commented softly. “but there is something missing.” He snapped his fingers together and a tall dark haired man, surely another of his hybrids, entered the room. He held out a small box which Klaus opened to reveal a small round diamond, surrounded by an intricate design of sapphires, on a long silver chain. She turned to look as the sparkle of the gems caught her eye. She reached out a hand to trace the delicately sculpted jewels before she quickly withdrew her hand. “Its… beautiful.” she said quietly before turning towards the bed to retrieve her silver wrap which she had laid there. “But I don’t want it.”
“Don’t be silly, Caroline. Put it on.” he said in a casually dismissive tone.
“I won’t wear it. I don’t want it.” she repeated firmly as she threw the wrap around her arms and held it tightly to her slender form.
“I said I’d allow you to escort me, but you’re not my date. I will not accept your gifts.” she stated, her firm voice trying to convince herself not to take it more than to convince him that she wouldn’t. Her eyes met his again as he waved his hand and dismissed the hybrid who backed out of the room without a word.
“Caroline, it is rude to refuse my gifts.” he said quietly, his voice steady and demanding.
“It’s rude to assume I’ll take them.” she rolled her eyes away from him and gave a sigh. “I cannot be bought and bribed. Do you really think I’m so petty?”
“Of course not.” he responded, uncertain how to respond as he watched her turn from him again. “But I..” he stopped himself from continuing, knowing that his efforts would be to know avail. He let out an agitated growl before he spoke again. “I will be waiting downstairs.” he said before he turned and stomped out of the room.
Caroline’s fingers fiddled with the bracelet clasped on her wrist as he stormed from the room. “What have I gotten myself into?” she breathed quietly to herself, he eyes closed as she took a breath. She slipped her feet into her heels and gave herself one last look over before following him out the door.
