It hit me this morning how….grown-up Damon has gotten. When Ric died, he didn’t go and slaughter half the town or compel sorority girls to sex. He sat there, tears in his eyes, and with all his soul, appreciated the one man who never judged him at all. He sat there and watched his only true friend die. He sat there appreciating that even in the moments before death, someone like Ric saw fit to be his friend.
